Networks

In different research projects, I have used the terminology and techniques of network analysis. One of the main challenges in this work has been to incorporate conflict and power dynamics into network analysis. This paper on the Dutch integration debate examines different kinds of power in contentious debates while this paper demonstrates how the inclusion of negative ties makes it possible to identify different kinds of positions. I have also used network analysis to study social movements and urban subcultures.
